Professor Adejumo is Pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, and a nurse scientist whose work sits at the intersection of nursing, cancer genetics, genomic health, and health-professions education across Africa.
About
Professor Adejumo is a Nigerian nurse scientist, medical sociologist, educator and academic leader with an interdisciplinary career spanning nursing, medical sociology, cancer genetics, genomics, health-professions education and health systems strengthening.
She holds two master's degrees and two doctoral degrees, bringing together nursing science and medical sociology. This interdisciplinary training allows her to examine health challenges through clinical, social, behavioural, educational and health-system lenses.
Her research has increasingly focused on cancer genetic counselling and testing in Africa — building the evidence, capacity and systems needed to bring genomic approaches into routine care. A defining feature of her work is translation: research into education, education into professional capacity, and knowledge into practice and policy.
